Day 3, Flight 2 – Blackpool to Campbeltown (Captain: Simon)

Our route out of Blackpool takes us inland where we double back and route out to the coast along the pleasure beach and the Blackpool tower. The weather remains fantastic at this point and we’re all very warm!

We need a quick turnaround here as we were not allowed to depart after 17:30. So a quick stop for water, the loo, dip the tanks and kick the tyres and away. Or so we thought! The tiny terminal building is full of passengers, for a Loganair passenger carrying flight and getting us in and out of the building turns into a mission as the dispatcher is determined that no C172 crew were going to take priority over her commercial flight!

Very quick turnaround, and off we go again!

Nevertheless we were engine running at 17:20 and airborne by 17:30 – just!
